Hey y’all,

To keep up the spirit of Thrifting Thursday I wanted to share with y’all one of my favorite thrifting finds -my desk lamp! That’s my baby Hiccup modeling it.

I found it about a year ago and it’s been lighting up my office desk ever since. It was in mint condition when I got it and I have had no complaints. It was only $9. WOO! I went to Target the next day to find a lampshade for it and what do I find next to the lampshades? My lamp for nearly 4 times the price I paid. Thank goodness for thrifting.

btw. Sorry for the late post. I was working an event last night and have been totally wrapped up in it for the past few days. Click on the LA Times Photo below for more photos of the historic night! Here’s to pink carpets, free community events, gala dresses, and sleepy cats that greet you at the door at 2am.

… and in total Where’s Waldo fashion, I just found myself randomly in this pic. Can you see me? haha. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-gustavo-dudamel2-pano,0,1437463.htmlstory

If you need a hint… I’m wearing blue. Good luck.

So I’ve recently obtained an infatuation with clutches. I find that a good clutch can really make or break an outfit. Not only is it a cute accessory, but fully functional in holding all things necessary when going out. And I don’t know about you, but I find it nearly impossible to find clutches large enough to hold my blackberry (curve), my coin purse (which holds all my credit cards and my id), and all my small dailies (chapstick, lip stain, eyeliner). So whenever I go thrift shopping I make a bee-line for the purse section and yesterday was no exception.

I had seven dollars in my pocket and was determined that I wasn’t going to use any more than that for a clutch (because let’s face it, I could just as easily go to forever21 and grab a clutch there). I was on the mission to find something unique and affordable.

I went through the first rack of bags with no luck. I was disheartened because it was always the first rack where I would find my favorite items. I contemplated skipping the rest and going to another shop, but decided to stick it out. And low and behold! I found a cute navy clutch with multiple compartments. And for the price of $2.49 I couldn’t say no.

Navy Clutch

The clutch has regular signs of wear, but the color is still very nice with cute detailing in a faux snake skin type print, which can be seen closer below:

Also, the inside has a middle zipper compartmen which breaks the inside into half and also has a detachable strap on the sides.  The picture below shows the inside with my curve sitting in the clutch (so spacious!)

I love my Thrifting Thursday find!   Have you found anything great at a thrift shop lately?
